Hi,
I'm Carolyn 👋
About Me
I'm a former Wellesley College student-athlete with a degree in Economics and Political Science. Meaningful work experiences in law, government, tech, and finance helped me find my passion in the startup ecosystem.

Startup-Minded. Mission-Driven.

Along the way, I've worn many hats from research and operations to customer success and product strategy and discovered that I thrive in fast-paced environments where I can solve real problems and build things that matter. I'm especially drawn to mission-driven teams working on early-stage ideas with big potential.

MY APPROACH

Supporting Early-Stage Teams Across Roles

From law to startups, I've worked across disciplines to bring structure to chaos helping teams move faster with less friction.

Experience

A Track Record of Impact

I've worked across strategy, ops, and product leading cross-functional work, streamlining systems, and launching new initiatives.

Chief of Staff at Bukaneer Ventures

June 2024 - Present
Bukaneer Ventures is the parent company of Codeless, uSERP, and Wordable. Our mission is clear: steer existing companies and projects toward success, empower their independence, and explore new frontiers.

As Chief of Staff, I work closely with our CEO and COO to develop business partnerships across the portfolio, manage projects to completion, streamline processes, direct outreach efforts, optimize financial spend, grow teams, and forecast expansion opportunities. I'm drawn towards creating new projects that leverage my entrepreneurial skillset and require broad collaboration.

Executive Assistant to the CEO at Codeless

May 2023 - June 2024
Codeless is a content production company that combines strategy, SEO, writing, design, and video. We produce hundreds of long-form articles every month for some of the biggest SaaS, service, and affiliate brands in the most competitive spaces on the Internet.

As an Executive Assistant to the CEO I led internal communications, meeting preparation, project development, and relationship building efforts for CEO & President. I sharpened my problem solving capabilities, strategic thinking, business management, and verbal communication skills. This experience prepared me to shadow the President and begin training for the Chief of Staff position at Bukaneer Ventures, Codeless's holding company.

Founding Team Member at Rentearn

January 2021 - May 2022
Rentearn lets investors compare thousands of properties against their own investing criteria. We set out to help investors diversify their portfolio with data-driven analyses to start earning passive income.

As a founding team member I led initial brainstorming, research, product development, and relationship building efforts. Our team put a pause on development to focus on other endeavors, but know there is a need for this offering.

Co-Founder & COO at NRICH

December 2018 - October 2020
NRICH is a fintech startup designed to empower college students of all socioeconomic backgrounds to set and achieve personal finance goals through tailored education, user friendly technology, and a supportive community of peers.

As COO, I grew a small team and led market research. My efforts secured us the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) SandBox Innovation Fund supporting the development of our product and services. NRICH was later accepted into the MIT DeltaV accelerator where we refined our pitch, financials, and go to market strategy with the support of 12 board members and 3 key advisors to secure initial funding for the venture.

Affordable Housing Development Consultant → Director of Resource Development at Kaua'i Habitat for Humanity

July 2021 - November 2023
Kaua'i Habitat for Humanity works to provide affordable housing opportunities to uplift communities. With the average home price on Kaua'i nearing $1.2 million, it is imperative that we find and develop affordable housing solutions for local residents.

Initially as an Affordable Housing Development Consultant, I identified land for affordable housing development activities and worked with leadership to improve efficiency within existing workflows. I was then hired as the Director of Resource Development, where I managed all aspects of successful fundraising, secured major donations to support the organization's missions, and led teams of volunteers (groups of 5 to 35 people) to support relationship building and community activation efforts.

Board Member at Hawaii Children's Theater

December 2023 - Present
Hawaii Children's Theater provides arts education for students of all socioeconomic backgrounds on Kaua'i. I benefited from their efforts as a student and now hope to further their impact and reach.

As a Board Member, I work with staff to outline the organization's goals and strategic activities for the year including fundraising, capital deployment, public relations, educational offerings, growth plans, inclusive casting, and scholarship development.
